Rules for Archival Materials Opening to the Public  
      1. Users must present a letter of introduction from their work unit and also appropriate proof of identify( ID card, military officer's card, employee's card,  passport etc.) to the SHAC reception and complete a registration form.  
      2. Users must put all personal belongings including suitcases, bags, books, notebooks, folders etc. (except computers and pencils) in the lockers provided before entering the reading areas. Users' drinks, cups and rain gears are to be put at the designated place.  
      3. Users' seat at the Reading Room will be appointed by the receptionists at the Public Service Department.  
      4. Before consulting records, the users must fill out a Record Request Form. Receptionists will make available catalogues appropriate to the topic of research of the users. After the examination and approval, you may order the desired documents. Each user can order 4 times a day, and 5 documents at a time, but before making another order the user must return the previous batch of documents.  
      5. Users can reserve documents that they have not finished in the designated cabinets at the end of each day.   
      6. Please observe silence in the reading rooms  
      7. Our archival materials are unique and must be treated with extreme care.  Users must not:
 
  • Write on or mark any items from documents
 
  • Put arms on documents
 
  • Take any piece of paper from files
 
  • Make any change to the documents' original sequence
  • Fold documents
  • use mobile telephones
 
      8. Users must not take away any items (unbound pages, envelopes, dropped stamps, and all kinds of small things) from the archival material boxes. Violators will be prosecuted and fined.  
      9. Users should use the special paper provided to take notes. Only graphite pencils are permitted, or you may use portable computers.  
      10. Users should fill out an Application for Replicating Original Material Form for photo-copying, photograph scanning, and replicating original materials, and use special slips to indicate where to start reproduction and where should end.  
      11. Users must show their photocopying or extracted materials to receptionists as they leave the reading areas.  
      12. The archival materials provided to the users by the SHAC are for private research reference only and may not be published or transferred in any form, including on the Internet, without the permission of the SHAC.  
      13. Opening Times: Monday----Friday 08:30----16:30 The SHAC is closed to the public on the last Friday afternoon of every month. The SHAC will be closed on legal holidays.
